Welcome to the March edition of "The Compass". As spring approaches, come up and see us at the marina and relax in our customer lounge, enjoying the beautiful views of the Waccamaw River. Don't forget to purchase your Wacca Wache T-shirts and hats, a great gift idea. We also have marine supplies for your safety needs including boat oil, batteries, life vests, safety flairs, horns and whistles, bug spray, etc...
Winter Water Restrictions: Wacca Wache will restrict water service during below freezing events. Please make sure your holding tanks are full during the winter months in the event sustained freezing temps exist. The frigid temps will break waterlines and it's necessary to turn water supplies off to eliminate line breaks. Contact the marina office for service when temps get above 40 degrees and our staff will fill your tanks.
Sea Wall Construction: The restoration of the sea wall has been completed. We appreciate all your patience during this construction. The breezeway re-build will begin as soon as we're certain no more "movement" continues. We have TEMPORARILY provided access from the parking area. Again, we appreciate all your patience during this construction.
WI-FI : We have revamped the old wi-fi service at the marina. Please contact the marina office for information to access the NEW wi-fi system. Also, please inform the office of any problems encountered when accessing or using the new system.
Recycle with Wacca Wache: The Marina has started a new recycling project. Waca Wache will provide one meduim sized "tote" for your convenience. Contracted patrons can place the tote on the dock and dockhands will gather these daily or you can contact the marina office for a pick-up. Totes will be numbered according to your slip location and returned after emptied. If the tote is lost or damaged, a replacement tote will cost $10.00 each.
Items allowed within the tote are:
Glass items Plastics Aluminum Tin Office Paper
Newspapers Magazines Cardboard (broken down to fit within the tote)
Note: Wax cardboard cannot be recycled, large boxes can be placed in the "Cardboard Dumpster" in the
marina parking lot. We and the environment appreciate your efforts...!
Off Season Interests: The marina has finished the 2010 summer season! Now off season projects will begin. rebuilding the pump-out system as well as the sea wall restoration are just a few projects on the books. Revisit the website for more NEW items planned for the fall of 2010. We thank all customers for their patronage this summer. We appreciate you all...!
Patron Launches: For existing and new patrons, please allow 45 mins. to 1 hour for all dry storage boat launches. Call the marina office and request your launch BEFORE you head to the marina. This will allow for the dry storage crew to continue to offer the ICW's best customer service.
Valv-Tect Marine Fuel: Wacca Wache has partnered with Valv-Tect to counter the problems boaters have with Ethanol fuel. A "Pre-Mixed" Valv-Tect treatment is added to our fuel to keep marine engines running cleaner, bringing quality up to marine standards and eliminating the need for any other additives. Specific details are available at the marina office.
